There is always a connection between life and art. My images are not literal autobiographies, but they grow out of my psychological anxieties, fears, and desires. In this series the work feels particularly intimate. As I pursue ambitions for mind and body, I remain grounded in the struggles of being a determined, often imperfect human. I pay attention to how figures relate to the surrounding space, whether in the controlled conditions of a studio or in a wild, on-location setting. The body of work addresses several themes, but fundamentally it is a search for inner meaning.
