Fine art photographer Hugh Foster finds the balance between grace and strength at two iconic Orange County works of art. Foster created this series of artwork as an interpretation of space using Orange County’s Noguchi Garden and the “Connector” sculpture by artist Richard Serra.
Noguchi Garden in Orange County is a compact, minimalist sculpture garden intended as a representation of the state of California. “Connector,” a 65-foot-high steel sculpture by Richard Serra outside the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, offers openings that lead to a hollow interior where voices echo off the metal walls.
For Hugh Foster, architecture is more than mere backdrop. It is an essential part of the artistic conversation between subject and setting.
